Custom Deck Design & Construction in Victoria, BC

Every yard is different. Every house sits differently on the lot. We build decks around what you actually have, not a template that fits most situations.

What Makes a Deck Actually Custom

A lot of contractors offer 'custom' decks that are really a set of standard designs with minor variations. Actual custom work means the deck is designed from scratch around your specific yard - the grade, the drainage, the sun exposure, the way you plan to use the space, and how the finished deck should relate to your house.

We don't have a catalogue. We come out, look at your space, talk about how you want to use it, and design from there. If the site has quirks - a slope, an unusual entry point, a view you want to take advantage of or block - those get built into the design rather than worked around.

Materials We Work With

Vinyl Membrane (DeckRite)

Waterproof, low-maintenance, and the right choice for Victoria's wet climate. Cut to order for your exact deck dimensions and colour.

Composite Decking

Wood-grain plastic by-product that comes in a wide range of colours and patterns. Has the look of a wood deck with better durability and lower maintenance requirements.

Aluminum & Glass Railings

Finished railings that match the deck and your home's style. We install both aluminum picket and full glass panel systems.

Treated Wood & Cedar

Classic look, proven performance. Requires more maintenance than vinyl or composite but suits certain designs and budgets well.

How DeckRite Vinyl Membrane Works

DeckRite is a PVC vinyl membrane that bonds to the deck surface and seals it completely. It's installed in sheets with heat-welded seams - no gaps, no entry points for water. The surface is textured for grip and available in a range of colours and patterns designed to look like stone, wood, or solid colour depending on your preference.

It's also tough in the way a deck surface needs to be tough: resistant to UV, resistant to foot traffic, and resistant to the expansion and contraction that happens when temperatures swing between summer and winter. After installation, it doesn't need sealing, staining, or annual treatment.

Cut-to-Order: What That Means for You

Most vinyl membrane contractors buy in bulk and work from what they have. That means you're choosing from whatever colour and size is in stock, and the contractor is managing leftover material.

We order DeckRite cut to order for every project. The membrane arrives sized for your deck and in the colour you've actually chosen - not the closest match to what was available. There's no overstocking cost built into your quote, and the finished installation looks like it was made for your space, because it was.
